Bear Creek Township Sewer Meter Reader
Bear Creek Township is accepting applications for a part-time Sewer Meter Reader.
This position is responsible for reading approximately 250 water meters at the end of each quarter. This is a part-time position with work typically taking 10 to 12 hours per quarter. Applicants must be available during the last week of March, June, September, and December. General knowledge of water meters is preferred, as minor issues or needed repairs may occasionally be identified while completing meter readings.
Duties May Include:
- Reading and recording water meter usage
- Identifying obvious meter issues or repair needs
- Repairing meters within the scope of the position
- Reporting concerns to the Township
- Performing related work as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be reliable and able to work independently
- Must be available during the required quarterly reading periods
- Must have general knowledge of water meters
- Must be able to travel between meter locations within Bear Creek Township utilizing personal transportation, with mileage to be paid at the IRS rate
