The Northern Michigan Master Gardener Association is hosting its annual spring plant sale featuring a selection of locally-grown perennials, herbs, ground covers and shrubs, in addition to some houseplants, all at bargain prices. The day-long event also includes educational presentations and demonstrations on plant division, native plants for lakeshore planting, and growing, harvesting and drying herbs. A Garden Market Place will offer a variety of garden-related items, and a hands-on pollinator workshop is planned for the kids. Proceeds from this annual sale will help fund a public seminar with garden guru Janet Macunovich on Saturday, Aug. 3, at North Central Michigan College. Information about the seminar will be available at the plant sale. The MSU Extension Northern Michigan Master Gardener Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which sponsors educational events and community projects.
