History Talk - It's Not Just a Quill Box

Renowned quill work artist Yvonne Walker Keshick present a look at process of creating a quill box - including the connection this art form forges between the artist and natural world as well as their cultural traditions and spirituality.

Keshick will talk about the gathering of materials (sweetgrass, birch bark, porcupine quills, etc.) and the process of quilling and building the boxes. She will also show off some of the projects she is currently working on to demonstrate the various stages of the process.
